Product Description
Sourwood, found in North Carolina has exquisite grain patterns – I call it tiger striping! When finished with Tung oil a light burnt orange color shows itself on the end grain. One of my favorite woods.
I cut this one with a slight lean for character. It won’t fall over – unless you boot it a good one. Knots, cracks, contours make a beautiful piece.
Cracks have been detail sanded. Sides were stained to emphasize grain. The finish on this piece is a 3x hand rubbed Tung oil worked to a smooth touch. Tung oil is a good choice where beverages may be placed as it resists water and alcohol staining. As with all my stumps this has been kiln dried and disinfected by a heating process.
